Jun 2, 2007 This is an open site set up to discuss some of the challenges facing many of us who practice and teach in the Creative Arts and Media sectors. Many Australian universities are undergoing massive structural change at present, and this coincides with other significant challenges to the ways that we will work, collaborate and contribute to knowledge in our fields. While many universities have been developing eLearning, Virtual Learning Environments and WebCT-type services in response to the new needs of study in the network-age, many outside the university systems have been developing a different set of tools and approaches to sharing knowledge, promoting learning, pedagogy, and the dissemination of ideas. Open source, wikis, web2.0 and the read-write web are often posed as viable alternatives to proprietary eLearning systems, and yet their take up in the university context is quite problematic. The aim of this site is to act as a clearing house for ideas, discussions, collaboration and research into the many possibilities that will be available to those of us involved in education and the arts. | ||
